Grambling State University's College of Business offers the Bachelor of Science Degree with majors in Accounting, Computer Information Systems, Economics, Management and Marketing. These programs are designed to provide students with a common body of knowledge in business administration and provide the skills needed for specialized fields. This foundation develops a solid background for careers in public, private or governmental accounting. Problem-solving and effective communication skills are cultivated, and the knowledge and use of technology as it relates to the profession are enhanced throughout the curriculum.
The Department of Marketing prepares students to embark on careers in sales, retailing, and related fields of endeavor. Students will benefit greatly with the skills they learn in the areas of problem-solving, teamwork, communication and knowledge of related technology. The department also provides social services to members of the community.
The Department of Computer Information Systems has designed a program to prepare students for successful careers in the field of Computer Information Systems - one of the fastest growing fields in the business world today. Students will be enriched with the knowledge and skills necessary to compete in this environment. The department lends support in securing a job or preparing students for graduate students.
The main objective of the Department of Economics is to assist students in developing a capacity to think critically, objectively, and with a reasonable degree of sophistication about economic problems and issues. Students in this area will be well prepared to enter careers in business industry, commerce or government.
The Department of Management seeks to prepare students with the extensive body of knowledge needed for an entry-level position in their field of study. Another aim of the department is to improve the skills of students in the areas of problem-solving, communication and knowledge of related technology. The department also provides social service programs and activities to members of the community.
