SHOW AWARENESS OF ELECTRONIC MAIL

First Class Email
- The electronic mail program we are using at college is the First Class package.
- Open First Class by double clicking on the icon on your desktop
- Go to Help on the menu bar and choose Contents.
- Read the relevant help items and remember to refer back to them if you encounter any problems while using First Class.
- Use the back and forward buttons to read the next help files.
- Next read through all the messages within the folders on the desktop. You will know there are new messages in the various folders by the red flags showing beside each folder.
e.g. :
Create A New Mail Folder
- Open your mailbox.
- Go up to Conference on the menu bar.
- Scroll down to New Folder.
- A new folder will appear in your mailbox window.
- Click on the name, it will become hightlighted and your can overtype a new name.
The Structure of an Email Address
- An E-mail Address is a unique address within the Internet which enables people to send text messages to other computer users.
- It comprises your name, the @ symbol and your domain name.
- e.g. [email protected]
Closing Down First Class
- Go to File on the menu bar
- Scroll down to the bottom and click on Exit
You should now have enough knowledge to complete the live assignment for your portfolio.
