It aint me, but I took it My name is Kelly. I just graduated from California State University, Chico, aka "Chico State," which is probably best known for its reputation of being a party school. I got my degree in journalism and I minored in English. I know. Good stuff. I work at the Statesman Journal for now. I'm sure, one day, I'll marry some wonderful man, have 10,000 of his babies, and have no time for newspapers. har har har

For the last 20 some odd years, I've lived in Visalia, which is a right smack dab in the middle of California. (see map if you're confused.) Let's see what I can tell you about Visalia...it's in Tulare County, which has the highest teen pregnancy rate in California and we have more cows that the state of Wisconsin. (No, I'm not pregnant and I don't have any children) For four summers, I've worked for the City of Visalia, Recreation Dept. as a lifeguard and an assistant swim coach for the Visalia Seahwaks. But, because working for them is unfavorable to the normal human, I came to my senses and started working at a YMCA camp I used to go to as a kid, Camp Tulequoia. Trust me, it doesnt get any better than that as a lifeguard.

Things I enjoy doing when I'm not in school would be just about anything that has to do with a frisbee (ultimate frisbee kicks ass) backpacking, anything athletic really, as long as I win :), well, I'm hardly ever bored, so I guess I just try to occupy myself with things that don't include sitting myself in front of a television set.

Click for Visalia, California Forecast I graduated in 1997 from Golden West High School. (the high school out in the middle of nowhere..but has the nicest campus...and pool now, of the three high schools) Everytime I go home to visit and end up at one of the bars, usually Lums, I see people who have yet to leave Visalia to venture onto something else, like college, or this wonderful entity called "life." They've been sucked into Visalia and they actually call it "home." Poor things. They're my reminder that I need to not mvoe back home when I graduate and there's so much more to life than Visalia.

Back in 1992 when I first started chatting on Prodigy (formerly PNVC26C) I went by the name "lorax" and I was supercool to everyone who knew the story. Now, because people have been sucked into television and disgusting Internet trash, they have no idea what the Lorax is or stands for, so do yourself a favor and read the story

My sophomore year in high school, I applied for a scholarship to Japan. The scholarship was for one student from each state to spend a summer there. Unfortunetly, I was chosen as the alternate from California and I felt like a big dork because I put a lot of effort into that and I got nothing lol. BUT I guess someone felt sorry for me and they gave me another scholarship that I could use on any other trip to any of the other countries, but due to the fact that they notified me so late about being the alternate from California, most of the programs were closed or full. Fortuently, I got the last slot to go to New Zealand for the summer and I had a blast!!!! Since then, YFU has changed the scholarship so that there's two people from each state that can join...just my luck eh? click here for pictures from New Zealand

I have brother, Tyler, ([email protected]) and he enjoys making a fool out of himself. He's my twin...except he looks 5 years older than me. (he's really 2 years younger) Hey, if you really want to be a friend, add him to your ICQ list and send him lots of forwards.

Hmm, as for anything else you need/want to know, just ask :)
