to other Tinks on the WWW. I was surfing around the other day and started
looking for other people nicknamed 'Tink' just for fun. There are quite
a few of us out there, and I decided to put together a links page in case
there were more Tinks out there looking for other Tinks!
Without any further ado, here are the much awaited links. Feel free to browse through the various Tink's pages at your leisure. If you know of any other Tinks that I do not have listed here, please let me know and I'll add his or her URL. If you are a Tink yourself, then by all means, drop me a line and let me know how you got your nickname! |
Tink #1. Me, of course!
Tink #2. I consider this Tink special because he came by his nickname the same way I did. In his case, it was his brother, who is nine years older, who was responsible for the nickname he has carried for the last 38 years. It seems that when Tink was a baby his brother took offense at the whole diaper scenario. He started calling his new baby brother Stinker. As Tink began to talk, his brother naturally thought he should teach him his proper name. Luckily Tink couldn't say Stinker, which he pronounced as Tinker. It caught on! On his page, Tink says that it is conceivable that someone out there who has known him since childhood could be reading his page and find out for the first time that his real name is Donald.
Tink #3. This Tink isn't a person, but a place! It's the Multi-Venue Entertainment capitol of N.E.PA Featuring the Galaxy Nightclub, The Outer Limits Pub, The Skeller, and Bananas Beach Bar. Tinks offers party goers four of Pa's hottest nightclubs under one roof. Once you pass through their front door you are welcome to roam upstairs, downstairs, inside, outside, and all around their party heaven! Sounds like a blast!
Tink #4. This Tink is a 20 year old college student. She attends Santa Barabra Business College and is studying to be an accountant. She has two children, Adrienne and Elizabeth. Her interests are camping, swimming, concerts and many other things. Sometimes she likes to just spend days alone and enjoy a book.
Tink #5. This Tink is a poet. He has been a teacher, a principal, a superintendent for grades 1-12, a business chairperson, a writer, and a poet. What an interesting life! His page has some samples of his poetry, and he welcomes email!
Tink #6. This Tink is a 14-year-old girl from Lappeenranta, Finland. She was born on 7th May 1983 in Espoo. If you want, you can find some of her photos on her picture site. Her real name is Salla but her friends call her Tink (short from Peter Pan's TinkerBell) because she is exactly like her. She also has a big thing for Michael Jackson.
Tink #7. This Tink's real name is Robin and she lives in Southern California with her husband Rene and their spoiled cat, Sheba. She wears many hats: by profession she's a Special Education teacher, and she teaches in the Chula Vista Elementary School District. In her "spare" time, she makes jewelry and other things through her company, Neverland. She's also a convention organizer, primarily working with Comic-Con International, the largest comic book-oriented convention in North America. You can find out more about this Tink by clicking here.
Tink #8. This story is actually a strange one. This Tink's nickname is short for Tinklebell. Notice the unique spelling. This Tink has the special talent of being able to urinate quickly, and can beat anybody out of the bathroom. Her record is unblemished. Therefore, during high school, she received the nickname of Tinklebell. She has carried it over to a MUD, stickmud.jyu.fi7680 to be exact, and is proud of her nickname.
Tink #9. This Tink has been told that 'Tink' is a common nickname for the Polish version of Catharine. She's often thought that it might be fun to have a reunion of all Tinks.... you know, something like "Tinks of the world unite" Drop her a line and see what can be arranged, and then let me know where and when to be there!
Tink #10. This Tink emailed me recently with updated information: "I have been a Tink for 50 years now, being nicknamed this from being a toddler. My christened name is the same as my Mother's – Marguerite - so it was inevitable a nickname was found for me. I live in Derbyshire, England in the village where they film The League of Gentlemen BBC Comedy Series. It’s good to know there are a few other Tink’s around. Love to you all!"
