If you are an America Online subscriber, visit the Electronic Schoolhouse (keyword: ESH). There you will find many collaborative projects hosted by schools around the country You can also announce your own project(s) there, and even find keypals (electronic pen pals) for your students
links to hundreds of current projects, listed by the month in which they begin. If you and your students decide to host your own project, you can list it on the Global SchoolNet Foundation site as well.
The International Education and Resource Network hosts global projects that focus on how students can make a difference in the world.
THE JASON PROJECT VIII-JOURNEY FROM THE CENTER OF THE EARTH
This expedition, led by Robert Ballard and his team of scientists, highlights different types of "movement" -of volcanoes and glaciers, of birds and other wildlife, and of people. Iceland, Yellowstone National Park, and the environment near your own community will be featured.
JOURNEY NORTH-A GLOBAL STUDY OF WILDLIFE MIGRATION
Hosted by Annenberg/CPB Math and Science Project, this project has two levels of participation: Level 1 is free and Level 2 requires a small fee.
MAYAQUEST and AFRICAQUEST
Join bicyclist Dan Buettner and his team as they explore Africa or the ancient civilizations of Central America. There is a fee to participate, although many of the resources are still provided free over the Internet.
