ENVIRONMENTAL SITES ON THE INTERNET

Sponsored by the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, this site is a goldmine of information. In June 1996 it was selected as the Best Comprehensive Environmental Directory by CESSE (Center for Economic and Social Studies for the Environment), Brussels, Belgium.

ENVIRONMENTAL WEB DIRECTORY

The directory is a GOLDMINE of online environmental resources.

GAU FOREST ARCHIVES

Wonderful articles on such issues as deforestation, forest conservation, the survival of indigenous tribes, and other ecological issues.

LINKS TO ECOLOGY

The University of Missouri and the Association for Tropical Biology have compiled a great list of links that include such resources as academic ecology, government research groups, and museums and institutes that focus on ecology.

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES RESOURCES

The Internet has many other sources of information regarding indigenous peoples. This is an AWESOME list of resources.

RAINFOREST ACTION NETWORK

RAN is a wonderful site, full of up-to-the-minute information about the remaining tropical and temperate rainforests around the world. Children, teens, and adults will find age-appropriate materials here. Be sure to check out their Tribal Links to find a comprehensive list of other relevant sites.

RAINFOREST ALLIANCE

Another rainforest preservation group that has a well-designed web siteChildren and adults will enjoy the What's Your Eco-Rhythm and Jungle Journey game. Be sure to register (no charge) to get your own Rainforest Spirit Name and identity!

WWF-GREENWEB DIRECTORY

The World Wildlife Fund shows us how well-organized and informative the Internet can be! It's a one-stop, must-see site for anyone interested in the environment. Subject areas include: general ecology, forests, species, water, climate, and wildlife.
