Hr. Ms. WalrusIn 1953 the Royal Netherlands Navy commissioned two former US Gato-class submarines. After WWII, the US Navy had these boats modernised in the GUPPY-program. The boats for export where slightly different and refered as: version 1b. In the period 1953 - 1971 submarine Hr. Ms. Walrus was in service in the Royal Netherlands Navy.
