build 2002/04

length: 132,4 cm about 13 kilo's displacement.

1901

Hr. Ms. Oslabja

Named after a monk, a hero of the Battle of Kulikovo against the Tatars in 1380.
Oslabaja was the second ship of a class of three battleships, all build in St. Petersburg. The new ships where intended as fast battleship.

Ordered in 1895, she came into service in 1903. Two years later, May 1905, she was sunk by Japanese gunfire in the Battle of Tsushima.

This 1/100 scale model is based on the drawings of the Global Modeling Webshop.

Its completely scratch build. Using various sorts of wood and metal. Some fittings where cast from resin.

It was built as a working model. With the 13 kilo's displacement impressive, slow responding and hard to stop.
