In the period 1830 - 1880 the Royal Netherlands navy owned several paddle warships. The ships would be disappeared by the tyrn of the century.

The bromo was of a two ships class. Built in 1840 in Rotterdam. Was in service, mainly in the Netherlands East Indies, till 1871.
