Animated animators in Maui
This is a photograph of Ollie Johnson, Me and Frank Thomas in
Maui.
Frank and Ollie are retired Disney animators, who had worked on many
of the classic Disney animation films including Pinnochio, Bambi,
Fantasia. They are also joint authors of several wonderful books
on animation.
The location is Io Valley on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
In 1991 I was an administrator for an art gallery in Oahu that had
sponsored a showing of their work. I had the honor of being the
escort for Frank and Ollie during their time here in Hawaii.
