First "Field Buyer", allocated to the Central Stores facility, increased productivity by being one-man operation, processing all paperwork and award of all orders for this location in a new electronic process using City-designed system called PINS.
Subsequently covered a wide variety of commodities and services for all departments; rewrote standard clauses for purchasing documents; represented Purchasing for six months on the introduction of the Purchasing Module of SAP, writing requirements and scripts; wrote step-by-step procedures for all aspects of purchasing and SAP procedures for City staff; wrote step-by-step procedures for vendors using the MERX system of tendering on the Internet; evaluated tenders; wrote contracts; trained staff in purchasing procedures.
Other projects included CPPC - the introduction of the first government VISA purchasing and procurement card.
