Sand Mountain Recreation Area is an outdoor incredible sand play area..
The area mainly attractes, quad runners with paddle tires, and dune buggies, with hi po VW motors, and paddle tires...
But Wildfire ate up the hills while it was there, and what fun it was..
Also if you are going to Sand Mountain, then check out the weather forecast in the area, before you go...
There is camping at the base of the mountain, and restroom facilities..
No running water, so bring in everything that you need..
Especially shade ! A portable awning setup, is highly recommended !
The first site listed above said that the mountain was 600 feet high !
A guy there said that it was now at 780 feet above the campground..
I personally didn't measure it.. Sorry..
However when you are at the top and going down,
IT IS A LONG WAY DOWN, AND YOU THINK TWICE BEFORE PLUNGING OFF THE CREST AND LETTING GO OF YOUR FEAR !
YEEEEEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW..
