Welcome
to
The Rampant Lion

As of 5/20/98, there have beenvisitors to
The Rampant Lion...

Greetings!
Welcome to the Gaelic/Celtic Cultural site of Jon & Tay.
We are both Tribal Gaels living nearby the Highlands of
the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina.
We along with many other Scottish settlers in this area
are striving to bring back the old ways of our ancestors.

Old ways...
in more ways than one.
Within these pages you will find no fluff...
no neo-pagan, psuedo-Druid garbage.
We are what some may call... 'Paleo-Pagans'.
Meaning...
there is nothing... 'NEO', about us
or
our way of life.

This page is dedicated to all those with a thirst and passion for the underlying truth of the Gods, of the Gaels, and of the homeland. The site is named The Rampant Lion in honor of our Scottish heritage, but this is in no way meant to exclude the history and folklore of our Irish and Welsh brothers and sisters, for we all live as one under the Gods whom we share, in love, faith and lineage.

All Souls Night

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Somewhere in a hidden memory
Images float before my eyes
Of fragrant nights of straw and of bonfires
And dancing till the next sunrise.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

Figures of cornstalks bend in the shadows
Held up tall as the flames leap high
The green knight holds the holly bush
To mark where the old year passes by.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

Bonfires dot the rolling hillsides
Figures dance around and around
To drums that pulse out echoes of darkness
Moving to the pagan sound.

Standing on the bridge that crosses
The river that goes out to the sea
The wind is full of a thousand voices
They pass by the bridge and me.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.

I can see the lights in the distance
Trembling in the dark cloak of night
Candles and lanterns are dancing, dancing
A waltz on All Souls Night.
