Finally we come to the Parthenon. Commissioned by Pericles and dedicated to Athena Parthenos for the victory of the Persians. The Parthenon is one of the most breath taking temples in the state of Attica. |

Cape Sounion |

Just south of Athens there is a temple dedicated to Poseidon at the Cape of Sounion. This area has great views of the Saronic Gulf. |
