What is the new direction taken by the American Artist?

WELCOME AGAIN TO QUESTER'S ARTIST QUARTERS, THE ATHENS-OLYMPUS SITE.

THIS IS THE MOST RECENTLY PAINTED PICTURES OF OUR GALLERY

IN QUESTER'S ART WORK STRANGE IDEAS ARE THE MAJOR TOOLS OF COMMUNICATION BY THIS POINT

Now the big message is why all the mystery in the cosmos?

OK, so I'm looking for a good portrait study. I'm thinking of doing a painting of this gal. And, wouldn't you know, I did this one which is one of my favorites. (2001) The above picture hangs in our stairwell turn so I see it every evening on my way to the bedroom. I love the freedom of the hair across the floor. Lots of freedom implied here.

Hey, with a face like this why not? I'm all for it. Compare the two and see if I caught her looks with my brush (2001).
Look what I've been doing lately down below. Have I found my groove during those fifty years of painting but one picture every few years or not? Hopefully, I have.

After living on a boat for almost 10 years without my usual one canvas a year, I've come up with a rather "far-out" idea for a painting. Two weird looking women standing in a vine-covered arbor in the dead of night (2001). One is showing the other a tantalizing secret and it seems to shine with all the light of life itself. What could be in her hand? I do love a mystery.

Does it take a German to appreciate Mad Ludwig's castle? (2003) Well, the artist is Dutch and that's close enough.

What's with the blue hat? Does it take a mad hatter to paint romantic castles?

Putting out so much in artistic creativity can really put pressure on a guy, hey what?

I couldn't resist doing a dolphin in 2001. Aren't they showoffs? There's something about dolphins that make them special. This guy is good. What a diver!

If there is one thing a sailor respects it's the old time lighthouse. This one reminds me of the lighthouse at the entrance to San Francisco Bay. (2001)

This one is called Sea Claws. In the Japanese tradition, I next attempted a huge wave. (2001)

Score one for the Japanese. I think they invented this wave!

In a lighter vein another portrait of my wife. Click on this one and see what I did (2001) with her Chinese dress.

What does it take to paint a portrait? A place to work is nice. This is a corner of our garage. Want to have a studio? Use your garage!

Back when we first took to the sea in 1987. Siang Ying was about 32 at the time. I couldn't resist painting her in her innocense (2001).

And now it is sixteen going on seventeen years later. Time goes by soooo fast! But, look what my inclinations towards art are in 2004!

I've been reworking this picture for a month now. The first picture was painted back in the 70's and was stolen in the 80's. I've tried twice to redo it and can't quite get the look that I originally painted in the picture no matter how hard I try. I'm thinking of giving it one more try. Could it be I was just a better artist in the 20th Century than in the 21st?

I'm really getting into the art of production again. This coming season I am going to produce even more than ever before. Here is a shot of my studio area. It is a small corner of my garage.

I'm just hoping that the Texas heat won't put me down before I finish what I want to create. This is the way the picture turned out the next day and then I put it in a frame for our living-room wall.
