Cara Ellen Modisett's Homepage

Ask anyone who knows me and they'll mention to you that I am absentminded, hopelessly addicted to chocolate and Dr Pepper, and hard to drag out of a bookstore.

VITALS:

I graduated from James Madison University in 1996 with a B.A. in English with a certificate in secondary education and a bachelor's in piano performance/accompanying from the School of Music about three weeks ago, as of this writing. While I was there I wrote for the JMU Breeze and played in the Marching Royal Dukes my first year (loud, fun, obnoxious band music).

I'm originally from Harrisonburg, Virginia, JMU's hometown, and graduated in 1991 from Harrisonburg High School. I'm currently living in Roanoke, Virginia, where I am associate editor at Leisure Publishing (they put out The Roanoker and Blue Ridge Country).

I'm torn between music, writing, and teaching. I had a wonderful experience the last two summers working with the University of Virginia's Young Writers Workshop, a program I would recommend to any high school student who loves to write or anyone older who loves to write and teach.
