Rose (Raisa) Schwartz Lichter was my mother's aunt and one of her mother's older sisters. I think it would be fair to say that she was my mother's favorite aunt. These photographs belonged to my grandmother, Bertha (Brucha) Schwartz Stein Palow. They were all taken before the First World War (1914). Can I be sure of that? I think so. I have a later family photo taken in 1926. Three of the Lichter boys are in that photo, and they appear to be in their twenties. Click here to view the photo.
