| Well, it's Thursday, July 16 and I think I'm going back to the vet's today... I'll let you know about it when I get back (not until tonight, at least; this is an all-day visit - another one of those days getting poked and prodded. At least that lab person is nice (hope it's the same one!)

| Wow, I am so sorry that it's been so long since my last post, but I've been a sick little kitty. That last visit I mentioned was just awful. I kept vomiting all day, and even had some (sorry for the graphics here) diarrhea. When "Mom" picked me up, I knew she, too, was upset. The Doctor told her that my sugar level was even higher than when I first got sick. Since then the insulin dosage has gone up twice. We are now, in August, up to 5 units twice a day. I really don't mind the injections much.. Mom does try to be gentle and she doesn't keep sticking the same site on my skin. And that's when she feeds me, so I guess it's okay. In fact, I feel kinda bad for her, cause I know she's worried, and I know she loves me (I love her, too).
Went to the vet AGAIN this past Saturday, August 15, for a quick blood test. Mom got the results on Monday... the sugar is down, but still not where it should be. The sugar level read 392 at noon time (half way between injections). According to the doctor, she would like to see that number come down to around 150. Gosh, that's a long way from 392! Hope we can do it. But she said to keep the insulin at 5 units twice a day, and in two weeks to bring me in for something called a fructosomine (not sure how that's spelled.. so sue me LOL). Somehow it's supposed to tell them what's happening inside me over a period of several weeks. I'll let you know what happens! |
