ABSTRACT

This study investigated the effect of teacher methodology on the achievement of selected students from Loneman Day School. Seventeen students were selected from one class on the basis of continued enrollment in Loneman Day School. Data taken from the student files was analyzed to determine any significant changes in achievement scores in the areas of reading, language, math, and the basic test battery. Teachers were given A Teacher Attitude Inventory to determine their preferred teaching style. This style was then compared to the student achievement to determine if a particular method made a difference. Results indicate that a certain teaching method was not related to the achievement of these students. Results also indicated that boys did better than girls in this study in all areas except math.
