II. Job Description

As a student assistant in government publications, your duties will primarily consist of clerical type activities of varying levels of complexity.

The more basic of your duties will include such mundane tasks as typing, filing, collecting mail, answering the telephone, making photocopies and other mind bending tasks.

    Duties requiring more learning and expertise may include:
  1. Using computer applications (word processing and spreadsheets) on an IBM compatible computer
  2. Processing government documents - a very involved and multi-part process which isn�t as easy as it looks.
  3. Collection maintenance - including but not limited to filing, shelving, searching and performing corrections
  4. Any special projects the documents librarian may have up his or her sleeve.

These and other duties will be explained in greater detail in other sections of this manual. The important thing to remember is

�DON�T PANIC!�
