Imbolc



This holiday celebrates the day when the Goddess comes to the sacred well of the world as the Winter Hag, the Death Crone, old and clothed in black. She Drinks of the well, and, in a single night, is transformed into the Maiden, the Virgin Bride who brings the spring.

In the year as a day, Imbolc is dawn. It is associated with the direction of northeast. In the wheel of the year, Imbolc signifies the stirring of the seed.
