Draconic Helm
This helm has several variations (one for each dragon type).
It is extraordinary in that it resembles the countenance of a
dragon. It affords + 1 protection overall and grants its wearer a
+3 modifier to their saves vs. breath weapon. Three times per day,
the helm also grants the wearer a devastating ability. With the
utterance of a command word the helm writhes as if alive and allows
the wearer to mimic the breath weapon(s) of the type of dragon the
helm resembles. The wearer becomes immune to the appropriate
dragon's breath weapon. This attack operates similar to the breath
of a dragon of 5th age category, though more powerful or weaker
helms are possible (+/- 3 age categories). The weaker helms are more
common (85% of all helms are thus, 10% are unmodified and 5% are
stronger). There is only one helm in existence for each dragon type.
Spiny Helm
This partially closed helm adds on a +4 modifier(penalty)
when someone attempts a called shot at the head. It also has
other powers. The helm allows the wearer to comprehend the
dwarven language, and, when a command word is spoken (usually
located on the forehead of the helm; either inside or outside) a
spike on the top of the helm, which was originally about 3 inches
long, lengthens to a full 2 feet. Razor sharp ridges also line
the helm, and any contact with it causes 1d3 points of damage.
The spike can be used to impale opponents, if the wearer bends
forward and charges. It causes 1d6(S-M)/1d8(L) points of damage.
It's companion piece is a suit of Spiny Armor.
