Plot -
The Crashpad has just been destroyed by some gang hoodlums who the Warriors had tried to
end their violence last issue. Using powerful weapons, the gang blew up the Warrior's
home, but Nova managed to get Bolt and Turbo out of blast range. Back at the epicenter,
Aegis confronts the gang members, and manages to take down James, his former friend. James
tells Aegis who supplied their weapons, but won't let him take into custody. Instead,
James threatens to tell everyone about his secret identity. So, Aegis fakes letting James
hit him, and Nova tries to go after him. But when he does, Speedball comes crashing down
on him, after being spun into the air by the explosion. Namorita returns from Atlantis,
just as the firemen arrives. Turbo talks to Dalton Beck, the man helping her with the
arson investigation, but who is secretly working for Joe Silvermane. Dalton, also known as
Firestrike, calls Silvermane, telling him the plan is in motion. Meanwhile, the Warriors
track down Harley Traynor, the man responsible for giving the gangs their firepower. But
when they do, they are confronted by a group calling themselves Heavy Mettle. Consisting
of Firestrike, Warbow, Stronghold, Blackwing, Barracuda, and Riot, Heavy Mettle manages to
defeat the Warriors by destroying the floor beneath them, the only thing between them and
the river. The Warriors are forced to let the villains escape, but they still manage to
capture Traynor. Later that night, Namorita and the Human Torch go out for their date, but
when their celebrity gets the better of them, the two decide to finish their diner out on
the roof. And they end their night with a simple kiss. Then, Dalton sets the Warriors up
with a new headquarters: a firehouse in Brooklyn. The Warriors decide its good deal, and
move in. Then, the team tracks down the gang that has been plaguing them ever since the
death of Aegis's friend. The gangs come to the stand-off, with the Warriors caught in the
middle. When Turbo tries to break off the fight, James, Aegis's former friend, kills
another kid, with Turbo blaming herself. Back at the firehouse, Aegis finally comes clean,
telling them why he was protecting James: a while back, James had saved Aegis's life and
he reveals his real names: Trey Rollins. But Silvermane finds out that the Warriors caught
Traynor. Hoping to stop the criminal from snitching him out, Silvermane sends the word to
have Traynor killed! |
