AKA: Wind-RiderFamily:
Dracula, maker
Lover: Former: Forge, Dracula
Affliation: The Six
Former: X-Men
Powers: Bloodstorm still retains the abilities she had as Storm to control the
weather, including creating wind, rain, and lightning, but they have became amplified by
the vampiric bite. She has also gained the ability to turn into mist, call vermin to her
aid, and enhanced strength. Also, she relies on blood for sustenance and has a weakness to
direct sunlight.
Origin: Like Storm, Bloodstorm became an X-Men after losing her parents in
Africa. But a twist in the world of Mutant X forever changed her destiny. Here, when she
was bitten by the vampire king Dracula, she was never cured of the vampiric curse. While
it boosted her powers and gave her new ones, it forced her to feed on blood for
sustenance. She left Magneto's X-Men for fear of hurting of someone she loved.
History: When she escaped, she fled into the night. She found herself drawn to
where other vampires had made a nest. There, she found that Dracula had preparations for
her, with the pariah Forge left there for food. But Storm could not bring herself to feed
off him.
However, Kitty Pryde, the X-Man Shadowcat, had tracked Bloodstorm to this hidden tower.
She attacked, with the hopes of eithering freeing Ororo from the curse or killing her. But
Bloodstorm finally lost control, and she fed from Kitty's veins. Forge became her literal
bloodbank, while Kitty became Bloodstorm's slave.
But Bloodstorm slowly regained her sanity, and when she did, a new team of former X-Men
were forming under the leadership of Havok. She joined the team, the Six. The Six were the
greatest heroes the Mutant X ever knew, that is, until their Havok was replaced with the
Havok of another world.
So, Madelyne Pryor, Havok's wife and member of the SIx, fell into the hands of the Goblyn
Force, a primal force of nature like the Phoenix Force. Madelyne, calling herself the
Goblyn Queen, turned Bloodstorm and her allies into her slaves. It was not until Havok
defeated the Goblyn Queen was defeated that Bloodstorm was freed.
While subjated, Bloodstorm's control over Kitty was ended, and Forge left her side.
Bloodstorm was forced to feed off the blood of lower animals. Kitty had became the Black
Queen of the Hellfire Club, with Forge at her side. Bloodstorm turned away from her former
friends.
Then, Bloodstorm's former ally Gambit re-appeared in Bloodstorm's life. Joining the Six,
Gambit was later revealed to be a vampire like Bloodstorm. Soon, Bloodstorm was confronted
with a mysterious box, containing something that was triggering the bloodlust within her.
Bloodstorm tracked down the box, which was taken by the Marauders, but it was taken from
them by the underground mutants known as the Outcasts.
Bloodstorm challenged the Outcasts's leader, Dagger, to a duel to the death, while hoping
she could find the box before its opened. She failed in finding the box, and Dracula, the
vampire that made her, was released. But, Hank McCoy, programmed into the Six's computers,
created a serum for Gambit and Bloodstorm, forever ending their bloodlust and allergy to
sunlight.
But Dracula still walked the Earth, forever search for his former lover. In the end, he
find her, only to be defeated. But Dracula found in an ally in the newly awakened
Beyonder. And between them, they killed the majority of the Mutant X's world. Bloodstorm
managed to survive the final fight with Dracula, in the end, staking her maker through the
heart. But Havok, after confronting the Beyonder, was thrown back into the dimensional
nexus, leaving the fate of Bloodstorm a mystery. |
