Be an O'Hare Krishna!

The O'Hare Krishnas welcome you!

This is my tribute to "the One" who plays Sinclair/Valen, the Anla'shok Na of my heart, my man, Mr. Michael O'Hare.

Kick back, grow your eyebrows together, grab an orange Ranger robe to wear, read this, and soon you'll be at the airport handing out Starlaces, pushing copies of "The Gathering" and telling people to "come to the One and ye shall know happiness."
I found MY happiness in him and so will you....or else I'll break your arm and then space you out an airlock. (No, not really!)
I should probably tell my deep secret now and get it over with.....Jerry Doyle (Garibaldi) WAS my first B5 crush. I saw him in his open white shirt going "Vroom-Vroom!" on that Kawasaki Ninja in "Eyes" and I fell head over heels. It got me really excited (About B5 you dirty minded people!) and I went back and watched my tape of "The Gathering" again and slowly over the course of a few weeks I felt my crush switching over to Sinclair. And when I saw "Babylon Squared" (my all time favorite) that was it.....I had lost my heart to Sinclair forever.
And what's not to love? A gorgeous face, and a voice like butter. (Doyle has, as Dodger put it, a "nice butt" though. Hehe!) As my friends say, I wouldn't kick him out of bed for eating crackers.
One thing I absolutely love about him is what my sister and I have dubbed the "Sinclair Flair." He does it in a scene when he's angry or when he's "on a mission from God" so to speak. You know what I'm talking about. His head rears back, he raises his eyebrows and his nose flares out. Watch for it, he does it alot. I have to gasp for air I'm so overcome when he does it.

Am I obsessed? Well, probably, a bit, maybe, perhaps. But it's harmless fun, doesn't cost anything, (well, okay..I bought a Sinclair bookmark thru a catalogue), and it's not like I have my room lined with his pictures and candles burning round the clock on an altar. I've just got the candles! Ha!

  Vital O'Hare Statistics

He was born May 6th, 1952 in Chicago, Illinois.(MY hometown also. Well, okay not exactly, I was born in a suburb of Chicago if you want to get picky but I was darned close! And Boxleitner was born in a suburb of Chicago too so obviously, I'm in good company.) Also..friends of mine online and who work for the city swore to the Maker that O'Hare airport was named after his family, and that it was even stated at a convention. Actually, I'd never made that connection. Recently, I've been told that it IS, indeed, a false rumor. Dang, and I'd intended on making it the Mecca for the O'Hare Krishnas......

He studied at Juilliard, currently resides in New York, N.Y., and is active on the stage. He recently married, (double dang!..ah..but she's pretty and he has good taste so I'm sure she's nice. I'll learn to live with it.)

He has stated that his fave eps are "Babylon Squared", "And the Sky Full of Stars","Parliament of Dreams","Chrysalis", and he extremely enjoyed working on "WWE Parts 1 and 2.". When asked to pick just one he usually says "Babylon Squared"(mine too) because he thinks it was well told and the best episode of Season 1.
Listed below are his appearances on B5,TV shows/movies,Stage, and Screen.

  Babylon 5 Appearances

   The Pilot movie "The Gathering"
  Season One
Season 2-He appears on a vid to Garibaldi in "The Coming of Shadows"
Season 3- "War Without End" Parts 1 and 2 as Ambassador Sinclair.

  Screen Movies

"The Ambulance"- Funny story about this. I've been looking for this movie forever as it's always listed on his bios. But I've never found it. Then one day my sister casually calls me to the TV set (knowing my harmless yet loyal obsession) and says "Hey, I just saw O'Hare on here." I made it to the TV in 2 seconds flat and the opening credits were still rolling.I squealed then sat down to watch my boy. And I waited.....and I waited....and I....well, you get the picture. So I get antsy and wonder when he's going to show up again. Well folks, he doesn't. His part is on and off before the opening credits stop rolling and I MISSED IT! I'll be in therapy for years over this.

O'Hare Photos

This is Mr. O'Hare with two of my best chat buddies, Cyrene (in the glasses), and goddess2 (in the dweeby OSU shirt), in Chicago. Boy, I wish I'd been home! (I live out West now.) I would've been heartbroken but goddess DID not only manage to get me an autograph but he personalized it too, ( very kind of them both I must say), so I didn't have to kill her or anything. Yet.

See my "A View from the Delenn Gallery" section to see a close up photo of O'Hare and Mira Furlan at a con together.

In a recent issue of the Official B5 Mag/Giant Issue (fall '98) there was an interview with Boxleitner and O'Hare (although the interview was dated..from a '97 con in England). Many GREAT quality pictures of O'Hare as Sinclair are included in the spread so if you're a fan like me definitely try and get it!

When asked about his personal likes of movie stars O'Hare revealed he looked up to Spencer Tracy and was "devasted" when Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz divorced. (Boxleitner revealed his personal fave was and still is Sean Connery)

They both stated it felt odd to them during cons when people wanting autographs are afraid or intimidated by meeting them. (That would be me!) That they are "just people". Although in the next breath, Boxleitner said he'd throw up if he ever got to meet Sean Connery so go figure.

O'Hare stated that reported tensions during the filming of WWE pt's 1&2 was all fabricated "drama" and that he and Boxleitner got along famously and enjoyed discussing certain projects they'd been involved in and talking about James Arness of "Gunsmoke" among other things. O'Hare said when asked if he felt he'd been "pigeon-holed" as an actor from his experience on B5 that he did not feel like that at all but if he was it wasn't such a bad thing because all his B5 experiences were good. (What a guy!)

Telefantastique recently E-mailed me that MOH will be attending their "Telefantastique 2" convention in July '99 in England....starting the 23rd I believe. Those darned English people! They get ALL the good conventions! I'm posting it anyway even though I'm pouting in case....A. you are a bloody lucky Limey in which case I'm terribly jealous and I hope you drop dead or B. you're obnoxiously rich and can just hop over the Pond to see MOH any old time or C. you're like me, broke but terribly determined, and wanna know ahead of time so you can make your plans for a plane/ship to stow-away on. (If you wanna split the cost of a pet carrier for the luggage compartment lemme know.)
