Angela - By Angela

Part 4

The door of the restaurant read Tibbys. Well, hea we are. Jack said. He bent over and opened the door, grinned, and held it open for me. Davy gave Jack a strange look but Jack didnt notice. I shrugged and walked in.

The restaurant was dimly lit and filled with newsies. I squinted. There was a dark haired boy sitting in a booth eating a hot dog. It looked like Johnny. I had totally forgotten about him.

Johnny? The boy turned around. It was Johnny. Huf, Angelfa! he replied through hot dog.

Thats my brother. I explained.

Hey! Hey, everybody! Jack waved his arms, trying to get everyones attention. The room quieted and all eyes turned to Jack.

Everyone, dis hea is Angela and her brudda...Jack looked at me. Johnny. I hissed. And her brudda, Johnny. A chorus of greetings followed.

Hea, lets sit down. Jack said to me. He took my hand, which kind of surprised me, and guided me over to a booth. We sat down across from my brother. I slid in and Jack sad down next to me.

Jack, this is my brother, Johnny. Johnny, this is Jack. They exchanged pleasantries and shook hands.

Here. Johnny handed me a menu.

Hey Jack! I looked up to see a girl a little younger than myself call across the room to Jack. She had mouse brown hair worn in two long braids down her back. She was dressed just like a newsie which was really surprising.

Hey Lynn! replied Jack. The girl smiled and crossed the room. When she reached the booth and saw me her smile vanished.

Hey Angela, dis hea is Lynn. And Lynn, dis is Angela.

Its nice to meet you. I said, smiling.

Yeah, nice ta meet cha. I could tell she really didnt mean it. She slid into the booth next to my brother.

And thats John-

Yeah, weve met. Lynn replied coldly, cutting me off. There was an uncomfortable silence. I looked at the menu. Luckily, just then a waiter came to take our orders.
