U

Udall, Melvin: Hey, he's not a villain, you may say. I say a guy who can walk into a therapist waiting room and say: "Hey, what if this is as good as it gets?" qualifies. Which proves evil may have its rewards: Melvin dances off with Helen Hunt at the end of the movie called "As Good As It Gets".

Ugly One, the: "I'll take the ugly one!"
"Which one's the ugly one? They're all ugly!" - or something like that. Turtles 2, I think.

Undertaker (,the?): A wrestling "bad-guy". Calling him fictional can't be stretching it t o o much.

Urvon:

Utgrdaloke: A giant with strong powers of illusion that figures in a funny old Norse myth. May Marvel never get their filthy hands on him.

V

Vampire in "Blade", the: See Deacon Frost. This guy is cool and sexy according to my girlfriend, Anna. See, I do follow the proposals from the guestbook!

VanBlundht, Eddie: Eddie "with a silent 'h'" VanBlundht is a cool little x-files villain. There is quite a bit of "monster of the week" about him, but monsters of the week can be pretty funny. Especially when they seduce Scully in the guise of Mulder, which Eddie does, having as his little gimmick using his mutant ability to morph into looking as other people to get laid. His attempt with Scully is of course interrupted, but he's had some successes before that. Eddie has a tail, by the way.

Vandal Savage: Old guy.

Vash-Ro: A war-god.

Velvet, Dino: Pornographer who wears purple satin shirts in "8mm".

Venom: A symbiote.

Ventriloquist, the: Arnold Wesker.

Vessla, Ville: Say after me please: "Staendigt denna Vessla..."

Vogel: A "magneticist". 19th century New Age guru, "doctor" and stage performer, that is. (Phantom, Scandinavian "Team Fantomen")

Volvagia: A dragon. (Zelda)

Vulture, the: Aka Eugene Toomes. Mostly. With power-costume villains you can never be sure, can you? This one has wings. (Marvel, Spidey)

Vulturians: A group of youngsters who tried to use the trademarks of The Vulture in their crimes. This was not a good idea. (Marvel, Spidey)

W

War: A horseman of the Apocalypse.

Wargrave, judge: The murderer in "Ten little Niggers" by Agatha Christie. If I remember correctly, that is of course.

Wario: Looks pretty much like Mario, but mean and dressed in yellow. Cannot die. Makes his first appearance in "Super Mario Land 2:6 Golden Coins", if I'm not mistaken, but has since gotten at least two games of his own.

Weirdwolf: Transformer.

Well-Manicured Man, the: X-files bigboss.

Wesker, Arnold: The Ventriloquist.

Wilkes, Annie: Mad nurse.

Williamson, Mark: Shrapnel.

Wilson, Slade: Deathstroke the Terminator, an assasin.

Wizard, the: William Asmodeus Zard. Or?

X

Xemnu: A powerful alien without mouth that first tried to conquer Earth once, then has tried to kidnap its population (or parts of it) a number of times to repopulate his home planet, the original population of which was destroyed during Xemnu's first visit to Earth. Xemnu belongs in the Marvel Universe and has been stopped by the Hulk. (Btw, Xemnu was known as "the Hulk" himself long before Bruce Banner's first appearance! But it is Bruce Banner who has thwarted his evil schemes.) But I can't really do Xemnu justice, not ever having seen one of his appearances and all that. Why don't you take a look at "Villains of Marvel Comics - Xemnu page", which is where I've taken all my info on this particular monster from outer space.

Xena, the Warrior Princess: A warrior princess. Yeah, she started out as a villainess on Hercules.

Y

Yaemon, grand master of the Flame: There is something I usually talk of with what would translate into English as "solo adventure" since that is the term I first learned, but which maybe more of you know as "Make your own adventure" or something like that. The idea is basically like this:
1. You see a monster with big teeth. If you fight it, go to 2. If you run for it, go to 3.
2. Suddenly you remember that you saw this monster as late as yesterday in your "Survivor's guide to monsters" book under "bloody dangerous stuff this, stay as far away as you possibly can". Well, you should have thought of that earlier! That is your last thought, and this greater green blahurrgh-blurrgh gets a nice afternoon snack.
3. Okay, you survive. But you're a chicken! Paaapapapa...
One series of such solo adventure books is called "The way of the Tiger" and puts you in the role of a young "shadow warrior". The climax of the first book is a classic martial arts showdown on the roof of a big black fortress with this Yaemon character, who is a high priest of a brotherhood of monks who worships your god Kwon's evil brother, and who has killed the man who raised you.

Z

Zafir: Swedish name for Zorglub.

Zandramas: A child of the dark. (Eddings)

Zantafio: The most re-occuring foe of Spirou and Fantasio (Nicke in swedish) and Fantasio's cousin. (Tip and description from Viktor Moberg. I'm pretty sure the Swedish name for this one's "Ricke", by the wat.)

Zard, William I.: Wizard, the. According to the Golden Age Villain Checklist "sometimes erroneously reported as William Asmodeus Zard", this was actually the original name I had for this guy. (DC)

Zedar: Formerly Belzedar. Fallen sorcerer in the service of Torak. (Eddings)

Zeus, Maximilian: "Maxie" Zeus is a Batman villain, not one of the majors but normally, when they collect a big bunch o' bad guys he's in there somewhere. He's had his own episode on "Batman: The Animated series", "Fire from Olympus". As I remember it, it was pretty good. Basically, Maxie Zeus is a millionaire who takes his last name a bit too seriously.

Zmeck, Clifford: Major Force. (DC)

Zombie: Accomplice of Bane's. (Batman)

Zorglub: Tall, dark, would-be master of the world from the "Spirou" comics.

Zoysyte: A dark general. (Sailor Moon)

man, Arvid: A.k.a. "magister Arvid". The killer in my good friend Michelle Breneman's movie "Inferno". A teacher of History, who finally get's fed up with the disrespect of his students and takes a grim revenge... Scary, very scary indeed. Magister Arvid is played masterly by Mats Olsson, a teacher of History himself. No other likenesses between actor and character implied (so I lose neither grades nor neck). Note: Since this was written a few years have passed and Mats Olsson is no longer my teacher. However, I still don't dare suggest any similarity between him and mr. man.
