I wanted to keep the "toy" appearence so I did not do any seem filling or resculpting. I also did not want to have to apply a base coat and repaint the entire figure so I chose a "Supercharged Godzilla" which was already a nice charcoal grey.
I started with a red base to lay out the "hot spots" using photographs as a guide. I then built up layers of lighter colors from orange to yellow. I decided to use the red and yellow highlights all the way down his tail to off set the metallic blue factory paint job on the tail fins.
