Godzilla CDs

My Godzilla CD collection started when I found a local retailer who would special order The History of Godzilla vol.1 and 2 after I saw a review of them in an animation magazine. These two CDs where among the first items in my colection.

Since then I found several sources for imported CDs and have collected sound tracks from every godzilla movie and a few other Toho gems. Two "best of" compilations have even been released domestically, as well as the soundtrack to the 1998 American Godzilla. Most of the import CDs go for $25 - $30, though some of the double discs are in the $50 range. I even found a Godzilla CD holder (pictured above), although I managed to exceeded it's capacity to hold my Toho related CDs.

Click on the pictures below to hear a clip from the cd.

This is the sound track to the first Godzilla film. It is also the first in the Godzilla sound track series (TYCY-5345). It features a nice selection of haunting music from the first film by fan favorite, and critically aclaimed composer Akira Ifukube. The sound clip is part of a classic Godzilla theme (you can just picture Godzilla wading through down town Tokyo to this tune).

Howl The Grunts And Growl Of All Toho Monsters (SRCL2531) features the monster sounds of all of the Toho giants up to Battra (1992). The sound clip is from the track "Godzilla's Coming To Town" which incorporates the monster calls into a dance mix with some synth music.
