Godzilla 1964 vs. Mothra &Godzilla 1968

Kaiyodo has issued several vinyl model kits depicting the various Godzilla suit designs from the original 1954 style to the latest 1995 style (and almost all of the styles in between).

The Kaiyodo kits are nicely detailed and fit together with a minimum filling (putty used to fill the seam lines in gaps) needed. Most of the kits in this series stand at about seven inches tall, although they do offer a three foot tall Godzilla '89 for $1,400+ (that is well beyond the budget of this collector).

On the left is the 1964 version of Godzilla with Mothra taking a bite out of his tail. It seemed to me that this Godzilla figure was either being blown away by the winged Mothra or getting goosed by the larva Mothra, I chose the goose. Mothra is a Bandai figure that I reposed, painted and added to the end of Godzilla's tail. I intend to make a base and add the second larva Mothra one day.

The Godzilla 1968 style model kit is pictured on the right (the photo came out a little too green, the model is actually grey). This style suit first appeared in the film Destroy All Monsters. It was also used in Godzilla's Revenge, Godzilla vs. The Smog Monster, and Godzilla vs. Gigan.
