Comments: Still planning for Fleet Academy South Convention in 1997. We

are working with two local hospitals and the Florida prison system on

"Baby Hold Me Tight" program. We collect scraps of cloth which gets sent to

the prison where prisoners make rag dolls. The dolls are returned to local

hospitals, police and fire departments, which give them to children

involved

in traumatic situations.

Problems: Several individual members who have joined STARFLEET, or members

who have joined other members of their family, have not received their SCC

#.

We are having difficulties with a former Department Head. Zone and Region

Coordinators are involved in trying to resolve it.

Comment: Our club participated in a Star Trek Christmas event sponsored by

the

Salvation Army on Dec. 7th. Other local Trek clubs also participated

and we all helped to raise money for the Salvation Army. One of our club

members dressed as a clown and raised money by making balloon animals

and painted

the kids faces. Excalibur members also presented a supermarket gift

certificate (for Christmas) to a needy family so that they may enjoy a nice

Holiday meal.

We also volunteered at the City Rescue Mission by decorating several of

their

large tables on Christmas Day.

We had our annual Christmas party at a club members house--and had a

blast on the 21st. Coming up in January we are planning to set a

recruitment table at a local convention with Denise Crosby as the guest.

Also we are planning

for the upcoming STARDATE 97 event which is an annual event held at the

Jacksonville Museum of Science and History (MOSH)---in Feb. or March. We

are also planning a Babylon 5 gathering when the new episodes begin to

air

again sometime in Jan.

Comments: The PAEGAN has become fractured over the past year into two

distinct groups: one that's more into ST:TNG and gaming/stories, the other

more into ST:TOS and the business(ek! Politics) of Starfleet. We finally

decided to turn this into an advantage and the gaming group will be

shuttling off the PAEGAN within the next few months (figured we'd wait

until the new administration takes in as there are several unrecognized

memberships and other problems we need to resolve as well as needing new

shuttling proceedures & membership forms). This will give new members a

choice of which group they prefer, which Trek they prefer, etc. It should

also end some internal problems we've had and let both groups be productive

in what they want to do. Both groups like the idea and will help each

other out, but by dividing we think both groups will end up becoming larger

and more productive.

Problems: NEED NEW MEMBERSHIP FLYERS ASAP.
