Sunny Summit
The second annual Sunny Summit has come and gone and it was a huge success!
FAdm Mike Smith was our special guest of honor and
was warmly received by all who attended. I'd like to thank Mike for
taking the time out of his busy schedule to attend our humble summit.
For those of you who did attend you got a early copy of the new CQ
that was overnighted to the Summit and passed out to all in
attendance. For those who did not attend you missed a great time! The
pie toss was a great success raising $773 for the Regional
treasury with $350 going to the Challenge of the Heart. The auction
raised $2010 with the proceeds being evenly divided between
Challenge of the Heart and the Regional Treasury. In return everyone
enjoyed themselves at the Dalmuti tournament Friday night and the
pie toss and putt-putt Saturday. The Region 2 awards was a special
time during the weekend where Region 2's best were recognized.
For those of you who submitted nominations, I thank you. For those
of you who didn't, why not? Who knows, you may have won. So
use this heads up and get ready for next years in Birmingham. That's
right, next year we will hold Sunny Summit III in Birmingham, AL.
We plan on getting the word out sooner this year so keep your eyes
peeled for more info on it. On a final note, I have a few people I feel
need to be thanked for all their hard work on the Summit. First, Barbara
Paul for the outstanding Awards Program. The USS Republic
and MacLeod for staffing and supporting this years Summit. The Yamato
for hosting the hospitality room and cohosting next years
Summit with the USS Hephaestus. A warm and grateful thanks go out to
everyone who selfishly staffed the registration & merchandise
tables, we couldn't have done it without you. Finally, Mike Henigan
for putting all this together. Under his guidance we held a second
successful and profitable Summit. And finally everyone who had a part
in this Summit, which includes everyone who attended. Without
your support this wouldn't be possible.
Chapter Charter Fee
I would like to thank all the chapters who have paid their Chapter Charter
Fees to date. For those of you who haven't, I must you do so
today if not sooner. These fees go toward the services that you enjoy.
After the mistakes from the last administration, Fleet needs you
support more than ever. They are doing a splendid job so far and in
my opinion have earned a fair chance. Mail your fee of $12 to
Marlene Miller at 461 Harmony Ln, Campbell, OH 44405 payable to STARFLEET.
All chapters who pay their fee will get a "vanity id"
at the sfi.org domain that is exclusively STARFLEET's.
Chapter Rosters
If you were not at the Summit, you find included in this issue a new
Chapter roster from CompOps. You will also find corrections that I
have already made. Please check the corrections to the Chapter and
Associates Roster to make sure if the corrections have not already
been made. If any further corrections are needed, please send them
to me so I can forward them to CompOps.
