On Sunday, February 15th, David Elliott joined the Great Bird of the Galaxy, Gene Roddenberry.
Dave Elliott was a good friend to all and will be missed by all.  Dave's cheerfulness and optimism (despite his disabilities) touched many of us and he has been an example to all of us.
I met Dave about 7 years ago at a SpaceDays Promotion at the Mall.  Dave joined the club immediately and sat with us at that very promotion.  Dave was part of every promotion since then, at the Mall, at the Theaters, in the parades, on the radio and on TV.  Dave and I (and the club) went to almost every convention for several years.  Dave and I roomed together at almost every convention.  Dave and I went to Walt Disney World and Busch Gardens together.  We share many good times and laughed a lot!  Dave was fun!  Dave was there for me when my marriage broke up and my ex-wife denied me visitation, even testifying for me in Court.  Dave was my friend!  Dave was the clubs CO for 2 years, while I was tied up with the divorce.  The club held several parties at Dave's house(s), and for a year (until he went into the hospital) the club met at Dave's house.  Dave was devoted!
Sci-Fi couldn't have asked for a more devoted fan.  He was a loving son to his parents.  His cats couldn't have had a more loving owner.  He was a teacher, he liked trains and entertained friends regularly.
The memorial will be held next Saturday afternoon at 2pm at St. John's Episcopal Church 500 Park Shore Dr (261-2355) at the corner of Crayton Road and Park Shore Drive.  Feel free to bring/wear Sci-fi "pins" and your communicator pin, no uniforms are planned at this time.  Terry will be doing a reading. It should be noted that St. John's is located less than a mile from the place where the StarQuest held its 1st meetings...where it all began (used to be a Wag's-in the shopping center near Rooms-To-Go).  Dave's sister is putting together a photo collage and has asked me to provide some pics of Dave in uniform with the group. There will be a gathering at Dave's Sister's house after the memorial service located on the SW corner of Hickory and Tupelo in Pine Ridge
Past and present crewmembers expected to attend at this point (assumptions / confirmed), Terry, Ken, Jeff, Neil, Elizabeth, E.Mains, Broderick, LaDonna, Trip K., Frank K., Edd S., Omar, Alan R, Jon & Bill Litz, Bill and Jane.
