Hey There, Not sure if my original reply to this went through or not but... The reason for RRU-2 is to have an in-house command net not controlled by South Ops. Currently, when a large incident or multi-agency incident occurs, Perris goes to south ops and requests a CDF command channel. Now, Perris can assign RRU-2 locally for all major, as you say, In House Incidents, without having to go through any other agency, thereby streamlining the proccess and hopefully simplifying communciations with-in RRU.

Riverside County Fire Department/CDF RRU is in the process of changing one frequency and adding another.

RRU-1 is the western county primary, and simulcasts dispatches for the eastern county. RRU-1 is 151.385 The eastern county primary used to be RRU-2, 151.175, but that is changing. Eastern county primary will now be 151.130 (RRU-3). They have been testing it for several days now. I am not sure when the full change-over will occur. 151.175 will become the new In-County Command Net for County incidents, and will be designated RRU-2. I'm currently (20:40 PDT on 9-18) monitoring an incident in the Rainbow area on (new) RRU-2, and can confirm the new use of the frequency. RRU will continue to use the CDF Command Nets, and the County Support Nets will continue to be used as they have been.

Here's the new lineup:

RRU-1: 151.385 >old eastern county primary
RRU-3: 151.130 >new frequency

Support 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9 will remain as they have been, as will the CDF and RVC Tac nets; as well as the CDF Command Nets More information (hopefully) will follow. I hope to be able to relive some confusion within a few weeks once the changes have been made and all the bugs have been worked out. http://www.ke6alv.com

Riverside also manages to 'simulcast' most of its East & West dispatching - for no apparent reason, so there's a question over whether 2 dispatch channels are really needed. Makes me wonder why in some of these FD's there has to be a 'dispatch' channel and a 'support' channel and then TAC channels. (from fireradio-Dec00)
