POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT Communications Supervisor Monterey County, California REPORTING TO: Operations Manager SUMMARY With the guidance of the Operations Manager, the Communications Supervisor will provide leadership and direction to the dispatch department staff to fulfill the American Medical Response mission and "total patient care" concept, promote a positive environment for employee relations through teamwork and peer driven excellence, reinforce constructive and professional relationships with fire services, hospitals and other members of the EMS team and ensures contract compliance with the local EMS agency. AMR - Monterey County holds an exclusive contract for 911 ALS transport services, responding to over 18,000 requests a year and covering a mix of suburban & rural areas of over 2,300 square miles. The Communications Supervisor has eight full-time and four part-time dispatchers operating a secondary PSAP 911-dispatch center. � QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Minimum of two (2) years Dispatcher experience. Current EMD certification through NAEMD or previous certification and the ability to re-certify within 90 days. Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills. No disciplinary actions within the past year. PREFERRED: Prior experience within an AMR communications center. Prior supervisory experience, with emphasis on strong leadership skills and an ability to motivate direct reports. Prior EMS field experience. A demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks in a dynamic environment. Excellent interpersonal skills. Computer literate, especially Microsoft Office applications including Access, Outlook/Exchange, Word and Excel. Experience with GEAC dispatch software, Trimble AVL systems, CAD reporting software, Kronos and scheduling software. Knowledge of the Incident Command System. College degree in science, health care or management related fields.
