2SAFESCHOOLS AWARDS CENTRE
School bus safety recognition for helping to keep kids safe
BY JAMES KRAEMER There's an incredible crowd of bureaucratic politics surrounding kids safety. 2safeschools is helping to re-establish keeping kids safe on the school buses as a top priority where that top priority, for whatever reason, is not happening. Not 2safeschools or any part of our effort is possible without help from parents, bus drivers and other school staff, as well as the generous help from the press.
In recognition of this reality 2safeschools has established an awards process, to recognize the efforts of adults helping to keep kids safe. There are three awards - the first, "Keeping Kids Safe" is ready for submissions. It's purpose is to acknowledge adults doing their part to help keep kids safe at school and on the school bus.
How to apply for this award
It may take some time to get to all the applicants, so please bear with us. We or our designee will visit every site that is submitted to us.
Personal home pages, non-profit and commercial sites may apply. Hate, porn and sites considered objectionable (example: bomb making sites) need not apply.
- Your web site must have content and not just a links site, except when the web pages focus on education and safety related links.
- Everything should be in reasonable order and working. Build a few pages of content, then apply.
- We should be able to find a link to at least the 2safeschools directory (http://www.delpi.com/2safeschools) or a link to one of our safety pages, printable safety flyers, somewhere on your web site. If your web site is about home cooking (for example) and you provide a link as mentioned above, then you're doing something to help keep kids safe and should apply for this award.
- When we visit your web page we'll be looking for some content that relates in some way to helping keep kids safe. Helping other adults is often helping keep kids safe, thus, sites that provide education, friendship and counsel to other parents are as important as are safety intructions to kids. The layout of your web pages and whether or not your site is reasonably easy to navigate is also considered.
- School bus drivers web pages win this award virtually by default. We've yet to find a bus driver's web page that failed to qualify. They seem to live kids safety, almost as a 2nd occupation, and obviously should apply for this award.
You must display the award somewhere on one of the pages at your site and should link it back to one of 2safeschools pages or the 2safeschools directory.
To apply for this award, please e-mail 2safeschools (subject: keeping kids safe award). Please tell us a little about your web site (for consideration in our 2safeschools links section so keep it short) and don't forget to provide the URL (http://) to your web page.
Your award will be personalized with the name of your web site - please provide the name and mention which 'Keeping kids safe' award you prefer.
Sincerely,
2safeschools
