The journey began from....

 

 

...the campus of Bisset Institute, Ajmer, which has been there almost from 1900 AD when the Railway organisation was managed by Britishers and owned by various Princely States of India. It was named as Railway Traffic School (RTS), then.....

 

.....shifted to an accommodation owned by the Royal family of Mewar in 1952 AD, the present Garden Hotel and Museum of Vintage Cars, near the famous Gulab Bagh Garden, Udaipur. The nomenclature was changed to 
Zonal Training School(ZTS)...

 

.....Shifted to the present vast campus on 9th October 1956 AD for imparting multi disciplinary training to almost all the railwaymen of different departments. The nomenclature was changed to Zonal Training Centre (ZTC) in 1992 and then again to Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI) in 2003.
