This was a commission to commemorate the client�s powerboat that had been battered to bits by the sea during a race off Portsmouth. It was the first time I had been asked to paint a vessel from this Century.
The effect that I was after was to freeze the boat in a moment of time, using the water to give a sensation of speed.
The customer says that people think it�s a photo!
