the original schematic is from the November 1995 issue of Everyday Practical Electronics. i found that adding R1 and C4 allowed the chopping rate to slow down to where i thought it sounded best. a very cool stuttering effect. when the chop is turned up, the self-oscillation goes into some crazy video game noises. the square fuzz about halfway up is very cool. i used DIY Layout Creator, The Gimp, and mspaint to edit the layout.
