2. THEN HERE are his reviews of foreign albums from 1997. He wrote these pieces for the Manila newspapers The Manila Times and Today, except that -- but for the one on Filter -- they didn't see print for various reasons.
HISTORICAL BACKGROUND: The first record reviews Jojo did (three?) saw print way back in the late '80s in Jingle Chordbook Magazine -- they included one on Madonna's Like A Virgin and one on an album by Orchestral Maneouvres In The Dark. His copies of the rag with those reviews remain in limbo, the reason why he could only show us here his very brief return to record reviewing via the abovementioned '97 pieces -- involving bands like Alice In Chains and The Fugees. He followed the Rolling Stone one-to-five stars rating system. Now GO CLICK!
