The
first stop is the Como's square in front of the lake where we can embrace
the wonderful view of the Lake Como (also called Lario). Then we have a
sight of the ancient centre: the Cathedral in Romanesque style, with its
wonderful façade built by the local masters called Magistri Comacini,
that houses in its interior very precious paintings. After we cross the internal
roads to see another beautiful ancient church, St. Fedele, in its simple
but suggestive 12th century style, surrounded by a little square that
shows two Renaissance houses very well conserved.
Then we go with the funicular to visit the town of Brunate
(St. Maurizio) where it's possible to have a magnificent sight over the Como
Lake from quite 1000 metres level under the Volta's Lighthouse.
At the return, a boat take us to Bellagio, another little
but very characteristic town that houses very elegant villas that saw also very
important people as queens, dukes, political men, actresses, and so on. We walk
through two of these fabulous houses: Villa Serbelloni and Villa Melzi
d'Eril. Then we take the boat again toward Como.
