Jed Yingst's Story
"If it makes any difference after 20 years, the story posted regarding the evolution of the design for Gottlieb's Black Hole is not true. Joe Cicak played a part in the construction of the prototype, but was by no means the "inventor" of the concept. The real story is somewhat more interesting. For instance, the prototype was a combination of digital and analog circuits, with no controller. Gottlieb was interested in the design well before the machine was actually built. To get the sling kicker solenoid to return the ball from the lower playfield reliably, it was powered by 120V! We could get about 4 returns from it before it smoked." - Jed Yingst
Jed offered to provide more information if it was interesting. SNP naturally leapt at Jed's offer!
