Ward" Date: Wed, Jul 29, 2015 at 05:22 AM Dear Mr. Ward: Thank you for sending this. There are some changes. Most importantly our web address is stamp-one.com. This address (with the hyphen) goes straight to our current website (stamp-one.com/pvsc leads to a different page). We have not operated in Arizona since 2001, when the business was moved to New Hampshire. In 2005 we moved from Warner, NH to Concord, NH. The old Warner address and fax number are obsolete. The current Concord information listed is correct. I have been an APS member since 1987. ASDA member since 1995. I am also a member of NSDA as well as IFSDA. Thank you for bringing the listing to our attention, so we could provide updated information. Best regards, Tor Bjork Paradise Valley Stamp Company, Inc. A quick stopover to AJ's Personal Page http://members.tripod.com/~ajward/stamps/stamps.htm (stamps.htm) will give you some motivational perspective for Arthur J. 'AJ' Ward's gargantuan philatelic website. He describes the site as "a link list intended to provide the broadest scope on philately that I can find on the 'net - limited only by knowledge, imagination and time." Believe it! Hundreds of links sorted by Exhibits, Stamp Issuing Entities, Postal Agents & Authorities, World and U.S. Dealers Directories, Auctions, Commercial Directories, and dozens of "How-To" categories can direct you to any philatelic resource worth knowing. My two main hobbies are genealogy and stamp collecting. I have had a couple of genealogy sites for almost 10 years and I was thinking about doing a site related to stamp collecting. I even got a small start (www.stampcollectinginformation.com) but pulled back when I started thinking about the need to really get it organized before I started adding information. I was looking around at some stamp collecting websites to get ideas on organizing my site when I came across yours. I can't believe how much information you have assembled. I can tell from some of the dates on the site that you have been doing this since at least 1997, but even spread out over that many years, you must have spent an incredible amount of time every year. I am really impressed. Given that I am already 57 years old and work full time, I can't see how I could every put together even a sizable fraction of the information you already have. I have to rethink whether the world really needs one more stamp site when they already have A.J. Ward. Congratulations on having created such an outstanding website. You are, however, always welcome to contact me about any UK philatelic matters. The problem with the demise of the US philatelic sections in post offices is one I understand and I think it is wrong that so many are being closed. I think postal authorities around the world are not doing a very good job on dealing with the needs of stamps collectors. Our problem here is not just about closing philatelic counters but closing post offices - we used to have 28,000 in the UK and they have been closing them rapidly over recent years and we will be down to about 14,000 within another five years. Yes, many of them were/are very small and loss making in monetary terms; however, many of these were in the centre of small villages like the one I live in (470 households) but they were all the central meeting point on a day by day basis for the villagers, and when they close it takes the heart out of the village.
