"When Icelandic Post and Telecom was dissolved January 1st 1998, Icelandic Post hf. took over all postal matters, both domestic and international. Coincidentally, this period marks 125 years since the first issuance of stamps for Iceland as well as the establishment of 15 postal stations around the country, outside Reykjavík, each with a special stamp cancel."
