This artistamp is one of 25 reproducing the artistamp images created by
the German artist, Karl Schwesig (1898-1955). Schwesig drew his stamp images in
coloured ink on the left-over perforated blank margins of an actual postage stamp sheet while
imprisoned in Gurs, a large internment camp in unoccupied Vichy France.
They are dated 1941.
