Wonderful
All ye All,
The brightness of this day has given me the opportunity to sit by my beautiful computer to write you these joyful words of mine. Well, this may read like one of those letters we used to write when we were little boys and girls in elementary school, and also in our early years in SOGASCO. That exactly was the feeling and mood at Akatsi when Sogasco '85 Association in its wisdom decided to shift the April 2006 meeting from Accra to Akatsi on Sunday 30th April 2006.

Once again, and very characteristic of our meetings, folks were able to see people they have not seen in more than 20 years; I saw Felix Avornyo for the first time since 1985. Folks, I can't describe the mood. There was much more than fun; we fraternised, we made joyful noise, we made big plans, we reflected on issues, and we made some positive projections, we left as a bright and hopeful people.

We went back into time with everybody trying to remember some funny memories. The most popular reminisce was the all-popular "A student reports of his missing bunch of keys, if FOUNDED...." And there
was a "Heeeeyyyyy!!!".

As usual there was a lot of food prepared with incomparable culinary expertise and with great care. I still feel the love emanating from the hearts that prepared the meal, so warm. Above all, the food was served with fun, respect and dignity. Eating was a joy for us, we ate like friendly but ravenous wolves. Folks had to fight for more. Thank God there was more
than enough and folks carried some away. As usual the 'take away' included the ever-available (symbolic) zoklali. The sad news was that some people stole other people's 'take -away'.

The meeting was hosted by the sweet Akatsi group comprising Togbui Aho IV, Amekor Kwabla, Eric Ocloo and Felix Avornyo. However, I must say, that the real 'hosts' were the families (i.e. wives and children) of
our all-male Akatsi group. They, like their husbands and us, were sweet fun-loving people. They demanded to know us individually, so we had to march to them and introduce ourselves individually to all of them. It
was like been hauled to the Sanhedrin. They had fun too. They indeed were the drivers of the fun-loaded event.

Others in attendance were Victor Adzomani, Mawusi Hodey, Vincent 'Carly Cee' Ahiable, Edward Ahadjie, Ivy Tay, Grace Wotuh, Stephen Adeti, Gameli Anaglate (and wife), Wisdom Dzoti, Samuel Eworyi, Agbengu Yao and Bright Drah.

We were joined later via phone by Victoria Djabeng, Darlington Tamakloe, Patrick Ocloo, Evershed Amuzu, Agbezuge Doe-Lawson. Also on Saturday Wallace Boni and Gadiel (Richard) Edusah called to wish us well. And please the big one, Cornelius AGLEBE (?Mr. Ahafia yiee
sending me?)also sent his regards. Seli Susu and Vincent (Apetorgbor) also sent their love (via email).

The key issues we discussed were as follow: i. How do we forge ahead as a committed group; ii. Contribute our monies to buy ceiling fans for the
school (as promised on Sunday November 20 2005); iii. How do we all become partakers of the process and not divide our group into 2; those who work hard and those who sit on the fence; iv. What agenda/projects do we set for ourselves for the next ? years; v. How do we ensure that we honour our financial obligations to the association (including settling all
debts); and vi. How do we ensure that we continue to consider the
association as one that is bigger than what it was originally intended to be; its influence is bigger and we need to carry the responsibility that is associated with such a growth.

We did not try to extensively discuss and resolve these issues, but rather to take them home and reflect on them. We intend to pass our thoughts on to the executives as soon as we 'have' them.

We took a lot of pictures and we are hoping to make some of these available to all ye all, at least through the net. It was a lot of fun.

We missed all of you and we really wish for more such meetings (not in Accra BUT) in Akatsi. On that day, I saw the love in everybody's eyes; I felt the passion in their hearts, the thoughts linger on in our minds and our hearts desire that this will continue forever.

Stay blessed sweet folks and say a prayer for us all anytime you say one for yourself. Let's stay together and be a family forever.

Stay blessed n b-right (in all things and at all times)
