Comprehensive Merchandise Guide:Doujinshi
Besu's Dragon Quest Slime Shrine
Doujinshi can basically be described as fan-made comic books. The quality varies greatly, and the content is as diverse as the human imagination. Many doujinshi are hentai in nature, but I prefer to collect the more innocent variety. ^^ All of my dj are bought of off eBay.
Do you have a page featuring your Dragon Quest doujinshi collection? If so, please let me know so that I may link to your page.
I have an entire page devoted to the wonderful work of the Astro Boys doujinshi circle.
The most recent additions are at the top of the page.

Atou Manashi and Nakamura Yuuko |
| Description |
"Oversized" doujinshi compared to most; it's classified as a B5, roughly the size of a magazine. The art quality is simply breathtaking in this 54 page doujinshi. It includes stories, 4Koma strips, and the back features single pages devoted to different games like DQ3, Final Fantasy 3, and even Rockman. |

FFF Company |
| Description |
Wow! This is a monstrous 106 DQIV-only doujinshi. It concentrates on my three favorite characters, too - male hero, Alena, and Cristo. As you can see on the cover, most of the artwork is very true to Akira Toriyama's character work. Aao! 1/2 is a high-quality doujinshi in every way. |

Takumi Tazizawa and Koji Aoi? |
| Description |
A fun 48-page doujinshi. It has a number of short stories, most involving the female hero, Alena, and Cristo. Most interestingly, the single-page illustrations seem to focus more on the pairing of Krift and Manya (Cristo and Mara). |

Studio Atrandom |
| Description |
Just as with the other Arena Connection dj listed on this page, the art is excellent. This particular issue is also longer - 50 pages - and has more substance. The first story is from DQIV and tells about when the Hero meets Mara and Nara; it adds a funny scene at the Inn that night when the blushing hero ends up sleeping in a bed with a gypsy sister on each side of him. The second story is about the Minalvaton Saga (still have no clue what this is) and the last story is about Alena, Cristo, and Brey. |

| Description |
A 70-page doujinshi featuring short sections on DQ2 and 3, and one illustration of the DQ4 hero. The other 2/3 of the dj is a mystery to me because I can't identify the Famicom games; the art is excellent, though. |

Lovely 34 page dj about Arena and Krift. The artwork has clean, clear lines. Page 20-30 is an all-Japanese text story, with the only picture being Alena in a wedding gown. Along with this doujinshi is a small information booklet about other this doujinshi and others the circle has done. |

Ninjin Club / Tamu 2 |
| Description |
The best way to describe this would be as a collection of several Famicom classics. Even though Alena is on the cover, most of the material inside is a nice Final Fantasy 3 story with chocobos, black wizards, and even a slime at the end. It has a scattering of nice FFIV artwork of Rydia and Edge and Palom and Porom (first Palom and Porom fan art I've seen). There is even a Legend of Zelda story inside. One of the more interesting things about this dj is that it came with about 5 ad sheets tucked inside it for a Final Fantasy 3 doujinshi; the fact that this dj is 10 years old and still has these ads included says a lot about it's condition. |

Tsu-na Tomoko Mikeno |
| Description |
This is a DQ 4 and 5 only book. It consists of a number of hilarious, easy-to-follow stories. The slime on the cover gets horribly abused by the heroes - both Alena and the horse step on him - but the slime still travels along with them later to meet Master Dragon. Another hilarious story involves Saro becoming plushy-size and sleeping beside Rosa on her pillow; Rosa does not sleep well, and poor chibi-Saro gets pummeled, kicked, and generally battered. Overall, a very cute 44 page doujinshi. |

This 82 page doujinshi mainly features a DQIV story involving Cristo and Alena, along with two short stories about Dai and DQ3 characters. The art is rather super-deformed, but cute for the most part - I just don't like how they drew the eyes. ^^ |
