After determining the location & size of your future house, you need to look at your budget based on your monthly take home pay & other financial commitments, etc.
Amenities
Are there any amenities like shops, eating places, banks, market, school, transport, etc. within walking distances?
Duration of Tenancy
Depends on your rental requirements, you can negotiate a better rental term for a longer tenancy contract.
Furnished or Non-furnished
If you already have your own set of house furniture, it would be wise to look for a non-furnished house that will cost you less to rent and avoid the storage problem of your old furniture.
House Viewing
Don't lose track of the numerous properties you may view. During viewing, try to note down the address, asking rental, floor area, furnishing, fittings and add in your comments too. You should also look out for conditions of the house, any source of noise disturbance, ambience etc.
