Cats:

Family Picture, Manga

Luna:

Luna is a black cat who is the first of the cat guardians to be seen. She first met up with Serena in the first episode with band-aids making a cross on her forehead. The bandages covered up her crescent moon symbol. She talks to Serena, and once each Scout is found and assimilated into the team, she revels her true nature. She has equal (if not superior, sometimes) intellect to those of the scouts. She often will act not only as a strategist and guardian, but also with some maternal feelings for them. In the beginning especially, she harped on Serena a lot and complained of all the lazy habits she had. Luna would often get annoyed and frustrated with Serena and would call her names. But even so, Luna and Serena have a very close friendship. Luna also had to coax and coach Sailor Moon into doing things like attacks, or just plain super hero good guy stuff. At some point of time she refered to a Central Control, but due to the editing, it was a really weird incident. She later found out that Artemis was Central Control.
In the movie, Sailor Moon S, Luna fell in love with an astronomer named Kakeru (I believe). She would often visit and support the ill astronomer (he was ill from an ice crystal that was draining his life force). However, in the movie Sailor Moon wished for Luna to become human for that one night, while she was using the silver emporium crystal to fight the Snow Queen. Luna received this gift and was able to magically take the very ill astronomer to see the sun rise from outer space and heal him by giving him hope. She also said good bye to him and found out that Artemis had feelings for her. She also had a short crush on Yaten (Sailor Star Healer) for a while. She spent some time with him, but it was always Artemis that she loved. Often, she would treat him badly and tease him.
In the future she and Artemis have a kitten named Diana; in the manga, she and her family would turn into humans.

Artemis:

Artemis is a white cat which accompanied Sailor V. Once Sailor V became Sailor Venus, and apart of the team, he also came with her. He had found Mina and had coached and taught her, so before the Scouts were ever formed or even Sailor Moon was about, Sailor V was roaming about in search of evil to fight. Artemis does get annoyed with the Mina, even though he is very close to he; he yells at her for some of her habits and tries to get her to correct her mistakes. He also is an intelligent being who has a crescent moon on his forehead. He was Central Control for a little while until Luna found out, after that, there were no other scenes about Central Control. He is less paternal than, say, Luna but is also wisecracking and will occasionally mention the fact of the Inner's "boyfriendlessness" to them. Although he is also serious when the situation permits.
Artemis is in love with Luna and was extremely hurt when he found out that Luna had fallen in love with another being . . . He also gets a littlehurt at times by the way that Luna treats him. Once, he got starry eyed just looking at a church because he wished cats could get married as humans do. In the future he and Luna have a kitten named Diana.
He, too, can turn into a human but is in human form only in manga. He has long white hair to his bottom and keeps his crescent moon symbol on his forehead as a human.

Diana:

Diana is a purple-gray kitten, daughter of Luna and Artemis. She often hangs out with Chibi Usa and sometimes does not get things. She is very tiny, and usually sits on top of Chibi Usa's head. In the movie, Sailor Moon Super S, she was right behind Chibi Usa's bangs and was present when Chibi Usa meet Perle for the first time.
