THE BOOK CLUB

The book club met on July 14^th.  It was a very good discussion on “The Glass Castle” and was rated one of our top favorite books for the year.

For a real change of pace, the book for August is “Water for Elephants”

by Sara Gruen.  This book was an International best seller and nominated by Entertainment Weekly for their “Best Novel of the Year Award.”   I am not sure I agree.  What do you think?  Come to the book club and let us know your opinion and how you would rate the book one through ten, ten being the highest.    We would love to see you.

The book “The Flame Trees of Theka” was chosen for September.  Due to difficulty in locating copies, the book has been changed to “Drowning Ruth” by Christina Schwartz.  This haunting  novel is about the ties that binds families together and the secrets that separate them.   More about this later.
